Where will the money go?

We will be donating our proceeds to two organizations. At the moment, we are in discussion with The Genesis Inspiration Foundation– a nonprofit organization founded in 2018 with a mission to connect youth to the transformative power of the arts- as well as Durango Friends of the arts- a local all-volunteer organization raising funds for projects and programs whose goals provide educational and cultural benefits to the people of the greater Durango area.

Genesis Inspiration Foundation

Empowering Youth Through the Arts

The Genesis Inspiration Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2018 with a mission to connect youth to the transformative power of the arts. By improving access to arts education in under-resourced communities, they strive to enhance educational outcomes and spark inspiration in children nationwide. Since their inception, they have donated $10 million to fund arts programming at museums, schools, and nonprofit cultural organizations, creating meaningful opportunities for children to explore their creativity and potential.

Durango Friends of the Arts

Get to Know Us

Durango Friends of the Arts (DFA) was founded to excite and inspire support for all artistic endeavors, whether visual, musical, or the performing arts. Their goals are to provide educational and cultural benefits to our community and to explore new opportunities and experiences for their diverse population.

By emphasizing programs for children and youth, Durango Friends of the Arts recognizes the value of establishing an appreciation for the arts for generations to come.

Get to Know Us

As seniors at Animas High School, we spend the majority of our core class time working on a Senior Project, which includes three parts: a thesis, a TED Talk, and an action project. For our action project, we plan to put on an arts festival to connect the community and raise money for children in the arts. Our common goal through this project is to raise money for youth access to the arts through the shared love of all forms of art including music, dance, and visual arts. We are a registered Non-Profit organization looking to enrich the culture of the greater La Plata County Area.
